HOUSTON, TX — ‘Tis the season to be merry at HMNS – this year, we’re decking the halls and spreading holiday cheer, with a bounty of Holly Jolly events and programs to entertain the whole family. Marvel at a magnificent collection of Fabergé pieces and an enchanting model train display, enjoy some scrumptious cookies with Santa himself, and ring in the new year with live music and a midnight toast at Mixers & Elixirs: New Year’s Eve. HMNS Hermann Park | Now Open

Explore the artistry and innovation of Carl Fabergé and his skilled work masters in this exquisite exhibition. Fabergé’s brilliance lay not only in crafting opulent Imperial treasures but in elevating everyday items into works of art. From practical household gadgets to vanity pieces, he infused luxury and elegance into the ordinary.

HMNS Hermann Park | Now Open

Create holiday memories by travelling across Texas by model railroad in this scratch built “O” scale model – the largest such in Texas. Destinations include oil country salt domes, prairies and wetlands of the Texas coast, and state and national monuments. The trains will pass through Galveston, Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin and San Antonio, with other surprises along the route. Trains Over Texas is presented in memory of Glen Rosenbaum.

The story of Wyrex – Houston’s T. rex – is a captivating tale 65 million years in the making. Join Wyrex on an incredible journey as it navigates life’s challenges—from threats in infancy to the perils of adulthood. Watch Wyrex dominate the big screen, then meet this superstar face-to-face in the Morian Hall of Paleontology.

Witness the rhythm of survival and the fragile balance of life in Africa: The Serengeti. Every day the “circle of life” plays out on Africa’s famed Serengeti plains—home to the most iconic animals on the planet, and host to a massive animal migration that drives both predator and prey.

HMNS at Sugar Land | Saturday, 12/7, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Our annual family friendly event is your chance to catch Santa during an early visit to Sugar Land. Enjoy holiday crafts in Santa Land, the tradition of cookies and milk, and a take away photo with Santa & Mrs. Claus. Be sure to bring your own camera to snap some candids too. A festive way to support HMNS at Sugar Land’s mission of science education and accessibility programming.

HMNS Hermann Park | Saturday, 12/21, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

With 90,000 pounds of snow, the Houston Museum of Natural Science is officially the coolest place in town. Watch your favorite science museum transform into a winter wonderland before your very eyes and celebrate the first day of winter with style at Snow Flurry. Featuring sweet treats, live entertainment, a live DJ, and so much more, it’s snow wonder HMNS is the place to be this winter.

What better way to ring in the New Year than surrounded by your favorite exhibits at the Houston Museum of Natural Science! Dance among the dinosaurs, enjoy delicious food on our sundial while counting down the minutes, or head to the Planetarium for a romantic kiss under the stars. With live music from the Joilux Band, DJ Hype, and more exciting surprises, this unforgettable night will be the perfect way to start your year.
