HOUSTON – For a trio of adventurers, the quest to experience America’s wildest, most historic and naturally beautiful places becomes the ultimate off-trail adventure in MacGillivray Freeman’s National Parks Adventure 3D, narrated by Academy Award® winner Robert Redford.
This immersive film, opening at the Houston Museum of Natural Science Giant Screen Theatre Feb. 12, takes audiences soaring up exposed rock faces, hurtling down steep mountain cliffs and exploring otherworldly realms found within America’s most legendary outdoor playgrounds, including Yellowstone, Glacier National Park, Yosemite, and Arches.
Along the way, the film becomes at once an action-packed celebration of the 100-year anniversary of the U.S. National Park Service and a soulful reflection on what wilderness means to us all with world-class mountaineer Conrad Anker, adventure photographer Max Lowe and artist Rachel Pohl as they hike, climb and explore their way across more than 30 of America’s majestic parks. There are hundreds of national parks in our country that many families have yet to explore. Through this film, guests get a glimpse of breathtaking arcs of national and natural history,” said Charlotte Brohi, VP of Film Programming and Distribution at HMNS. “This film is more than just sightseeing. Our desire is that it encourages our audiences to discover the beauty and sanctuary of these American treasures, and also the need to protect these great landscapes.”
National Parks Adventure follows in the tradition of MacGillivray Freeman’s award-winning giant screen films – including Everest, Dolphins, The Living Sea and To The Arctic – set in some of the most extraordinary places on the planet.
